Transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) is a minimally invasive procedure to treat acid reflux, also known as heartburn, and other symptoms associated with chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
During the TIF procedure, a flexible, camera-equipped device is used to reconstruct the valve between the stomach and esophagus. Transoral means the procedure is done through the mouth with no incisions.
