Momentum is an injury-prevention and sports enhancement program for athletes of all ages. It was developed by licensed Horizon Health rehab staff.
The goal of the program is to identify movement faults that may lead to injury during an athlete’s sport. Performance enhancement is an additional benefit of correcting biomechanics. Poor biomechanics can break down healthy tissue and result in long-term injury.
A referral is not required for the Momentum program.

A research-based Functional Movement Screen is used to score each athlete and compare it against established standards. The screen includes familiar movements taken to extreme positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable.
After identifying problematic areas, an individualized program is developed to work specifically on each athlete’s needs and goals for performance. A running analysis is also incorporated into the program when appropriate for the athlete.
Note that free Functional Movement Screens are available to local athletes. This includes school athletes [Edgar County and nearby], travel team participants, adult athletes, runners, and more.
Individual Momentum sessions are $30 for 30 minutes to address areas of weakness and movement compensation found during the screen. Sessions are customized to each athlete’s needs. The number of sessions is determined on a case-by-case basis.
