A physician referral is required to receive dialysis services.
In hemodialysis, a machine and special filter called a dialyzer (or artificial kidney) is used to remove excess wastes and fluid from the blood, when a person’s kidneys can no longer perform that task.
Dialysis treatments typically are needed three days per week, with each session lasting approximately 3.5 hours.
Our team of specialized medical professionals includes:
Each dialysis machine includes a CLIC (Crit-Line) device – a unique feature in outpatient dialysis. This monitoring device measures hematocrit (volume percentage of red cells in the blood), percent change in blood volume, and oxygen saturation in real time for a more effective treatment. It helps to remove the maximum amount of fluid from the patient without the common complications of nausea, cramping, and vomiting.
The Horizon Health Dialysis Center is conveniently located on the Horizon Health main campus. The 5,200-square-foot facility is inside the Rehabilitation Services building attached to the back of Paris Community Hospital.
