Horizon Health Congratulates First Responder Graduates

Horizon Health congratulates the recent graduates of its first responder certification course.

Eight community members completed the 10-week course. This special training allows them to provide basic first aid and life support techniques, such as CPR, bleeding control, and managing airway obstructions.

“First responders are extremely important in rural communities. In many instances, they are the first to arrive at the scene of a medical emergency, providing immediate life-sustaining care,” said Sean Robison, Horizon Health EMT/EMS educator.

The certification course was made possible by generous grant funding, secured by Horizon Health Foundation, from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through the Department of Health and Human Services, Rural Emergency Medical Services Training Award (#1H79TI087094-01).
