Horizon Health Partners with Surgery Center in Terre Haute

To best serve its Indiana patients, Sycamore Pain & Wellness (SPW) is offering full-service pain management care even closer to home.

SPW, a service of Horizon Health, has entered into an agreement with Capitol Pain Institute to perform interventional pain management procedures at the Terre Haute Surgical Center, 227 East McCallister Drive (Hospital Lane).

Interventional pain management procedures disrupt pain signals directly at the source using targeted injections or stimulation methods. These include nerve blocks, epidural injections, and medical device implants to relieve chronic pain conditions.

"This partnership is the appropriate next step for Horizon Health in the Terre Haute community," said Jay Carmichael, Horizon Health president & CEO. "It exhibits our continued investment in delivering the healthcare services our patients need."

Office visits will continue at SPW's clinic location at 1378 South State Road 46, formerly Harrison College, on the city's east side.

SPW is led by Dr. Thomas Pendergast, a well-known Terre Haute native who began his pain management practice nearly 20 years ago. Since then, he has recruited a specialized team of local providers to establish the Wabash Valley's premier pain management group. In addition to pain management, the team provides family medicine, behavioral health, weight management, and bone health and wellness services.

"The Wabash Valley is our home," Dr. Pendergast explained. "We are proud of our hometown roots and being such an integral part of improving the lives of our residents."
