Horizon Health to Open Clinic in Tilton

Horizon Health has announced plans to open a family medicine clinic in Tilton, Illinois.

The new clinic will be located at 2 Illiana Drive, Suite C, across from the Toyota dealership off Illinois Route 1. The clinic will operate Monday through Friday and allow for walk-in patients.

The clinic is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2025.

Horizon Health’s interest in the Tilton community was initiated by a call from a resident.

“He and his wife had come to our Paris location for healthcare services,” recounted Kym Pfrank, Horizon Health chief operating officer. “They were surprised by both the vast number of resources and the quality of care they received. They asked if we would ever consider bringing our services further north.”

The family medicine clinic will offer a range of prevention, wellness, and treatment for common medical conditions. Family medicine providers are commonly the primary care providers for families. They are often considered to be the gatekeepers of good health. They are the main contact for nonemergency health concerns and are often responsible for a patient’s care over a long period of time. They teach healthy lifestyle choices and make referrals to medical specialists, when needed.

The Tilton Clinic will be similar in size and scope to Horizon Health’s Oakland Clinic, said Lacey Stults, Horizon Health vice president of clinic operations. It will provide point-of-care testing, allowing for several simple tests to be performed onsite. This will include rapid strep tests, rapid influenza tests, and urine dipstick tests.

The new clinic will initially consist of three employees – an advanced practice provider and two clinical support staff. In September 2024, Horizon Health announced plans for a primary care clinic in Marshall, Illinois, which is also anticipated to open in the second quarter of 2025. Horizon Health currently operates primary care clinics in Paris, Chrisman, Oakland, and Terre Haute.
