Erin Frank Honored for Exemplary Leadership at Horizon Health

Erin Frank, Horizon Health director of marketing and communications, was one of four Illinois rural hospital professionals to receive top honors for outstanding leadership at a recent awards ceremony in Champaign.
Erin received the 2024 “4 Under 40” Hospital Leadership Award from the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) at its annual conference November 14. The award is presented to new and emerging healthcare leaders age 40 and under.
“Erin truly is a leader among leaders,” said Christina Hodgson, Horizon Health PR/marketing manager. “She has been called upon by hospital administration and the Board of Directors for many things outside of her traditional marketing role for her vast knowledge and experience.”
Ollie Smith, Horizon Health president & CEO, added: “Erin’s expertise in strategic and operational planning is unmatched. She is a dedicated, enthusiastic, and motivated leader who ensures Horizon Health’s compass points back to its mission, vision, and values.”
Some of Erin’s most notable achievements over her 17-year career at Horizon Health include:
- Recruiting new physicians and other healthcare providers
- Leading an organizational rebrand from Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center to Horizon Health
- Establishing partnerships with area schools and community organizations
- Helping to expand services into nearby communities
- Creating community coalitions; and
- Taking marketing to the next level with digital marketing, a customer relationship management tool, and overall market appearance
ICAHN is a network of 59 small, rural hospitals dedicated to strengthening the operations of its member hospitals through collaboration. It is recognized nationally for its work with rural healthcare administering several state, federal, and private healthcare programs.
