Dr. Thompson Expands Family Practice at Horizon Health

Announces addition of nurse practitioner Sara Conn

Dr. Micah Thompson is proud to announce the addition of nurse practitioner Sara Conn to her family medicine practice at Horizon Health. Sara will provide support for Dr. Thompson’s busy practice in the Paris Clinic.

“I’m thrilled Sara chose my practice and Horizon Health,” Dr. Thompson said. “She brings a vast amount of experience to our patients and will help increase access to care.”

Sara and Dr. Thompson are long-time friends and medical colleagues. Dr. Thompson was also a preceptor for Sara when she was studying to become a nurse practitioner.

“Dr. Thompson has been a great mentor to me,” Sara said. “I’m excited to be working with her directly in primary care. We have a lot of the same visions and medical interests.”

Those interests include primary care, holistic wellness, women’s health, and heart disease.

“Preventative health is vitally important and is something I am passionate about,” said Sara.

Sara looks forward to collaborating with Horizon Health’s full-time specialty providers and services, which have grown substantially over the past several years. Among them are urology, cardiology, behavioral health, dialysis, and home care services.

Sara has more than 15 years of experience as a registered nurse, three of them as a nurse practitioner, in the Wabash Valley. She has an extensive background in cardiology that includes cardiovascular disease management with a strong emphasis on congestive heart failure, cardiometabolic health, and structural heart disease. She worked in the intensive care unit and cardiac catheterization lab as a registered nurse.

Sara has a master’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana State University.

Sara and her husband, Rodney, live in Terre Haute with their three daughters. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling with her family, being outdoors, watching sports, gardening, and reading.
