Horizon Health Expands General Surgery, Bariatrics Staff

Amy Riley is passionate about serving her community and her country.

She recently joined Horizon Health as a family nurse practitioner supporting the practices of Drs. Yaniv Cozacov and Fouad Hachem, general surgeons who specialize in bariatric surgery. Amy has more than 20 years of experience in specialty care and trauma medicine as a local healthcare provider and military field officer.

“I’ve heard nothing but great things about Horizon Health and its culture,” she said. “The general surgeons are great educators and I love learning.”

At Horizon Health, Amy will provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients having general surgery, bariatric surgery, and gastrointestinal (GI) and wound care procedures.

As a former nurse practitioner in Terre Haute, Amy’s medical experience includes gastroenterology, trauma/triage, occupational health, veteran disability care, and healthcare education.

Amy is a lieutenant colonial in the Kentucky Air National Guard, with a 24-year history that includes trauma medicine and serving as a lead medical instructor. Locally, she supports emergency preparedness and provides first responder trauma kits to Paris and Marshall schools.

Amy has a master’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana State University. She and her husband, Cory, live in Marshall with their three children and own a daycare center and tactical store.

In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with family and providing emergency preparedness education to schools, police departments, and first responders.
