Horizon Health Hosts 10th Annual ‘Back to School Bang’

To help prepare children for the upcoming school year, Horizon Health will sponsor its 10th annual “Back to School Bang” on Friday, August 2. This highly interactive health and wellness event will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 pm at the Horizon Health main campus in Paris. An after-party will follow from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.

The free event will feature interactive displays and health information from more than 15 local organizations, plus multiple departments of Horizon Health. Participating organizations will include the Paris Fire Department, Paris Police Department, the People Encouraging Remarkable Kids (PERK) Mentoring Program, Longview Bank, Edgar County Lions Club (free eye exams), Edgar County Health Department, and more. In addition to interactive displays, there also will be multiple trucks for the popular “Touch a Truck” event! Climb in, hop on, and honk the horns of big trucks and other vehicles.

Other attractions will include an interactive build-your-own first-aid kit, inflatable slide, games, giveaways, a free photo booth, face painting, rock painting, bubble station, and obstacle course provided by Horizon Health Rehab. The first 500 school-aged children who participate in the event will receive free school supplies.

Items can be purchased from Kona Ice and Stagecoach Coffee.
