Horizon Health Donates Mattresses to Hopes and Dreams

Patients spoke, and Horizon Health listened.

The hospital recently purchased 25 new mattresses for its inpatient unit. The old mattresses were donated to Hopes and Dreams, Inc., a non-profit organization in Paris that supports homeless youth. The medical-grade mattresses are waterproof for added protection and easy cleaning.

“During everyday patient rounding, we heard concerns about comfortability of the mattresses,” said Darcie Mathews, RN, director of inpatient services. “Our mission is to provide exceptional patient care and something like replacing the mattresses is an example of that.”
