Horizon Health Expands Primary Care Services in Terre Haute

Sycamore Pain & Wellness announces new provider

Sycamore Pain & Wellness, a service of Horizon Health, continues to expand its services, adding a second primary care provider at its Terre Haute location.

Terre Haute native Jessica Walker joins Joy Whitt, both family nurse practitioners, who treat patients across the lifespan.

Sycamore Pain & Wellness began offering primary care services earlier this year to complement its core offerings of pain management, behavioral health, weight management, and bone health and wellness.

Jessica joins Sycamore Pain & Wellness led by Dr. Thomas Pendergast and his team of specialist providers. She previously worked with the team for 10 years as a registered nurse at a Terre Haute surgery center.

“We’ve had a good relationship and I’m excited to be back with friends,” Jessica said. “I was ready for something different, and this position provides that. In family medicine you need to know a lot about everything and can help people get the answers they need.”

Primary care services support Sycamore Pain & Wellness’s holistic, “whole-person” approach to treating pain that addresses mind, body, and spirit, Dr. Pendergast said.

“Jessica is a great addition to our team and will serve our patients extremely well,” he said. “She is well respected throughout the community and has a proven record of excellent patient care.”

Jessica has 13 years of experience as a registered nurse and two years of experience as a family nurse practitioner. Her background includes orthopedics, surgery, and children’s health. Her clinical training includes family practice, convenient care, lung health, pediatrics, and occupational health.

Jessica has a master’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana State University.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and reading. She and her husband, Dylan, have two children.
