Paris Community Hospital, a service of Horizon Health, recently was named a top critical access hospital in the nation for its outstanding performance.
Horizon Health was one of 44 critical access hospitals to receive the “Gold Standard” award from CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA), a nationally renowned professional service firm. More than 1,200 critical access hospitals were considered for the award based on financial data, quality of care, patient satisfaction, total cost of care, and county health results.
“This award demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent patient care,” said Ollie Smith, Horizon Health president & CEO. “I am grateful to everyone for their continuous hard work and dedication to the communities we serve.”
According to CLA, Gold Standard performance criteria were established to identify, measure, and learn from top-performing critical access hospitals.
The firm concluded: “With the sweeping changes in healthcare, it was important to look beyond financial performance alone and create an approach that integrates a more robust evaluation of several indicators of value. Our hope is that these insights will help improve healthcare in the rural communities that critical access hospitals primary serve.”
