Beginning Monday, August 3, Dr. Brittany Wojnicki, surgical podiatrist, will begin seeing patients at Horizon Health’s Paris Clinic. She will be joining the practice of Philip Holloway, DPM.
“The practice has expanded significantly over the years to the point where another physician is necessary,” said Dr. Holloway. “I am thrilled to have someone of her caliber come to Horizon Health.”
Dr. Holloway and Dr. Wojnicki will work together to treat patients in the Paris Clinic and perform surgeries at Paris Community Hospital.
“Dr. Wojnicki’s training focused heavily on surgery. Her addition will allow us to expand our surgical capacity, adding procedures such as total ankle replacements, flat foot surgery, and diabetic foot reconstructions,” Dr. Holloway stated.
Dr. Wojnicki was raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. She completed her undergraduate schooling at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she received a degree in athletic training. She recently completed podiatric residency at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
In addition to podiatry, Dr. Wojnicki will also be providing care in Horizon Health’s Wound Center, which treats chronic and/or non-healing wounds.
“Our residency program was unopposed, meaning the only residents in the hospital were for podiatry,” Dr. Wojnicki stated. “That created great opportunities for us. We could scrub with many of the surgeons, even beyond podiatry. I spent much time with the orthopedic surgeon and the burn specialist.”
Dr. Wojnicki and her husband, Dave, moved to Paris in June. They are both excited to become active members of the Paris community.
“In 2018 Dave and I created Foot Care for the Homeless, a charitable organization that provides footcare and free shoes for the homeless on Holy Thursday each year. We’re hoping to bring this program to the Paris community,” Dr. Wojnicki said.
Dr. Wojnicki also enjoys running/exercising, her dogs, and competitive horseback riding.
