EZ Care Coming to Marshall

Horizon Health plans urgent care clinic along Route 1

Horizon Health has purchased the former Wellum chiropractic building in Marshall with plans to open an urgent care clinic on the property.

The building, previously owned by Dr. Jeffrey Wellum, is located at 1602 N. Illinois Highway 1 at the intersection of US 40.

Horizon Health will convert the building into an EZ Care walk-in clinic – initially offering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday hours. The clinic is scheduled to open in early 2019.

“We’re very excited to be able to fulfill a need that exists in the Marshall community,” said Oliver Smith, Horizon Health president and CEO. “The community has been interested in us opening a clinic there for quite some time.”

Horizon Health purchased the Wellum building earlier this summer. EZ Care–Marshall will offer similar services as EZ Care in Paris, which opened last June in a new building along Route 1 South across from the Paris industrial park.

Like EZ Care in Paris, EZ Care–Marshall will treat minor, non-emergency health conditions such as ear, nose, and throat infections; flu symptoms; pink eye; rashes; minor lacerations; simple fractures; and burns. Some minor procedures may be performed.

Podiatric services will be available in the building. Specific days and hours will follow. Services will be provided by Philip Holloway, DPM, who has been seeing patients in Paris for more than 30 years. He also has been seeing patients in Marshall for more than 15 years. The EZ Care–Marshall location will allow continued service for patients in Marshall and the surrounding communities.

“As with all communities we serve, we want to keep an open dialogue with the Marshall community to ensure our organization is supporting their healthcare needs,” Smith added.
