Angie Hamilton’s expertise in dermatology recently gave her the opportunity to teach for a day at Yale University.
Angie is a family nurse practitioner at Horizon Health who specializes in dermatology.
Speaking at Yale on behalf of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association, Angie discussed the “Fundamentals of Phototherapy” during a one-day workshop at the school’s Department of Dermatology. Audience members included approximately 20 nurses, doctors, dermatology residents, and staff.
“It’s an honor to be in an association that has given me the ability to teach nationally and to do what I love to do,” Angie said.
Also known as photomedicine, phototherapy uses ultraviolet light to treat skin disorders, such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and pre-cancerous growths.
As a member of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association Board of Directors, Angie has served as a dermatology instructor for the past five years. In addition to Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut), Angie has taught at Temple University (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), and at the University of Virginia (Charlottesville, Virginia). She has also taught in Wisconsin and Oregon.
Angie began offering dermatology services at Horizon health in April 2016. She previously practiced dermatology in Terre Haute for more than 10 years.
