Horizon Health welcomes Tory Keefer, family nurse practitioner, as a provider in the Paris Clinic.
“It has always been a dream of mine to work in a rural setting since I am from a rural area,” Tory said. “There is a need for patients in rural areas to have consistent primary care.”
Tory is providing support to Lauren Fore, MD, a family medicine physician in the Paris Clinic. Dr. Fore serves as Tory’s collaborative physician. Together, the two are providing care to patients within Dr. Fore’s practice.
“We’re excited to add her to the team,” said Dr. Fore. “Tory offers same-day appointments, and provides chronic care management and full-scope family medicine.”
Tory joined Horizon Health in February 2018. Prior to Horizon Health, she worked as a nurse in the critical care unit and adult care unit at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.
Tory attended Indiana Wesleyan University where she earned a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing in Charleston, and a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois.
Tory is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Tory is originally from Greenup, Ill., and grew up in a farming family. She recently married and lives in Charleston. She and her husband, Kyle, a Charleston firefighter, have two children: Lainie, 8, and Kimber, 2. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and traveling.
