Mark your calendars! Beginning Monday, January 23, EZ Care will be seeing patients at its new offsite location on Route 1 South, across from the industrial park in Paris.
The walk-in clinic will serve patients in a temporary, portable building at 2200 South Main Street while a permanent clinic is being built on the property. The process is expected to take approximately nine months to complete.
The temporary site will allow for point-of-care testing, such as rapid strep, flu, etc. Laboratory and radiology testing will be available through PCH/FMC. This inconvenience is only temporary as the new building will offer those capabilities.
“A number of factors led to the decision to move EZ Care off-site,” said Oliver Smith, PCH/FMC president & CEO. “As healthcare evolves, walk-in clinics are becoming increasingly popular. We’ve seen the need for EZ Care, and we’ve seen our patients’ satisfaction from it being provided.”
To accommodate the expanding service, additional staff has been hired, including support staff and providers.
EZ Care is a service, much like convenient or quick care clinics, offered by Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center. The clinic treats minor, non-emergency health conditions such as ear, nose, and throat infections; flu symptoms; pink eye; rashes; minor lacerations; simple fractures; and burns. Some minor procedures can be performed.
EZ Care will continue to care for patients at its current location through Sunday, January 22. The clinic is located on the hospital campus in the east corner of the Acklin-Shackleford Clinic, near the Occupational Health Department.
EZ Care is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 7 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
