Psychiatrist Joins Senior Care

Senior Care, a service of Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center, welcomes psychiatrist Dr. Ronald Johnson as medical director of the program.
Dr. Ronald Johnson sees patients on Tuesday afternoons at Senior Care, located along US Highway 150 in the Verona Mall in Paris. Senior Care is one of nine Illinois healthcare facilities that Dr. Johnson visits weekly. Patients must be enrolled in the Senior Care program to see Dr. Johnson.
Dr. Johnson has been in practice for 22 years. He earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and completed residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine at Springfield.
Dr. Johnson lives in Makanda, Ill. (near Carbondale) with his wife, who is also a psychiatrist, and four children.
Senior Care is a voluntary behavioral health service for Medicare patients ages 65 and older, as well as Medicare disability patients. The service provides support for seniors who are experiencing depression, grief, anxiety, loneliness, cognitive problems, and other emotional/psychiatric conditions.
