From common conditions such as acne and skin allergies to more serious skin cancers, the dermatology department at Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center provides care for the entire family.
The department is led by Angela Hamilton, family nurse practitioner, and her staff of medical professionals. Hamilton has more than 10 years of experience in medical dermatology. Her services include prevention and early detection of skin cancer, evaluation of suspicious lesions, treatment of psoriasis and unusual rashes, and more. She manages acne and eczema and performs skin biopsies when necessary.
“As the largest organ of the body, the skin is vulnerable to a variety of adverse health conditions and diseases, some of which can be very serious,” Hamilton said. “The most threatening of these is skin cancer, which can be fatal if not treated properly.”
Hamilton is a certified family nurse practitioner with a master’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to PCH/FMC, Angela practiced dermatology in Terre Haute, Ind., for more than 10 years. She began offering dermatology services in the Paris Family Medical Center in April 2016.
Hamilton is a member of the American Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Dermatology Nurses’ Association. Hamilton lives in Paris with her husband, Jim. They have three children: David, Kacey, and Nick.
Hamilton is accepting new patients of all ages. No referral is needed. For an appointment, call (217) 466-4714.
