Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center now has four healthcare providers on staff who are nationally certified to perform physicals for motorists who have a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
As of May 21, 2014, CDL drivers must be examined by a medical professional listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, an initiative of the US Department of Transportation (DOT).
PCH/FMC is assisting local drivers in this effort by having four healthcare providers on staff who are listed on the National Registry: Sara Spesard, FNP-C, Debbie Griffin, FNP-C, Susan Arp, FNP-C, and Tiffany Turner, FNP-C. Spesard, who joined PCH/FMC in December 2014, was the most recent provider to become certified in February 2015.
Each of these providers has completed the necessary training and fully understands the regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), which pertain to the medical demands of operating a commercial motor vehicle.
Physicals for commercial drivers can be scheduled by calling PCH/FMC’s Occupational Health Clinic at (217) 465-2606, Ext. 258.
