Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center is pleased to welcome Kumar Sodvadiya, MD, as a full-time provider in the Paris Family Medical Center.
Dr. Sodvadiya is a board-certified family practice physician. He earned his medical degree at Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research in Surat, India. He earned an MBA in healthcare at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.
Prior to joining PCH/FMC, Dr. Sodvadiya completed his medical residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 2014. During his residency, he participated in the Norfolk Rural Track Training Program. While the program provided training in both urban and rural settings, Dr. Sodvadiya’s focus was in rural medicine.
“People in rural communities are like one big family,” he said. “I want to be part of a community where there is a real need for healthcare.” Dr. Sodvadiya noted that he was born and raised in a rural community in western India with a population of 5,000.
Dr. Sodvadiya opened his practice in the Paris Family Medical Center on September 2 after completing his medical residency in Nebraska. Prior to his residency, he lived in northern Illinois for more than a year as part of an internship program for his MBA degree. Dr. Sodvadiya said he knew he would return to Illinois to practice medicine given the friendships and acquaintances he has established throughout the state.
Dr. Sodvadiya is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. His hobbies include playing cricket, volleyball, and tennis. Dr. Sodvadiya’s wife, Hetal, is a physical therapist. They are expecting their first child in October.
Dr. Sodvadiya is located in Suite D in the Paris Family Medical Center. He sees patients of all ages with all types of health conditions, from newborns to geriatric patients. His scope of practice includes well-baby checkups, women’s health, men’s health, and geriatric medicine.
His office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 am to 5 pm; and Tuesday, 8 am to noon. For appointments, call (217) 463-1946.
