PCH/FMC Welcomes New Vascular Surgeon

Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center welcomes Dr. Syed Hussain, board-certified vascular/endovascular surgeon.

Dr. Hussain is affiliated with Christie Clinic Vein & Vascular Center in Champaign. He sees patients for consultation and testing in the PCH/FMC Visiting Specialty Clinic at least monthly. Patients who require vein and vascular care are referred to Dr. Hussain by primary care providers.

Dr. Hussain is one of two specialist physicians who provide vascular consultation and testing at PCH/FMC. Dr. Timothy Connelly of Carle Physician Group also performs vascular consultation and testing in Paris.

Vascular surgeons specialize in the medical and surgical management of diseases that affect the arteries and veins, excluding vessels within the heart and brain. They treat complications from diabetes, blockages in the arteries or veins, blood clots, aneurysms, varicose veins, and many other vascular diseases.

Dr. Hussain earned his medical degree from Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. He completed specialized fellowship training in vascular and endovascular surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield.
