Beginning August 6, Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center will offer a new weekend service called EZ Care, a convenient walk-in clinic offering non-emergency medical care.
Located in the Family Medical Center, EZ Care will be available Saturdays and Sundays, 9 am to 4 pm. It will be closed from noon to 12:30 pm.
EZ Care is similar to immediate or quick care medical clinics found in retail stores. It will treat minor, non-emergency health conditions such as ear, nose and throat infections, flu symptoms, pink eye, rashes, burns, and bug bites.
Patients ages three months and older will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of their reason for treatment or severity of condition. You do not need to call ahead, and no appointments will be taken.
“This new service will allow our residents to receive non-emergency medical care on the weekends without having to wait for our regular weekday clinic to reopen on Monday,” said Randy Simmons, PCH/FMC president and CEO. “If someone has a condition that would normally be seen in a doctor’s office, like a sore throat, stomach ache, or sunburn, they can be seen at EZ Care.”
EZ Care will be staffed by family nurse practitioners Susan Arp, Shelly Roark, and Louwanna Wallace. Each is a board-certified and has completed graduate-level education. Nurse practitioners can diagnose and manage common and complex medical conditions in collaboration with a physician. They can order tests, develop treatment plans, and write prescriptions.
In addition to the many minor medical conditions that can be treated at EZ Care, camp, sports, and school physicals will be available with limited vaccinations (for children ages four and older). Parental consent and a current vaccination record are required. Well-baby/child visits will not be administered.
Laboratory and Radiology services will be available in the event tests are ordered. EZ Care will not refill maintenance prescriptions.
All follow-up care will be performed through your primary care physician, who will be notified of your EZ Care visit.
Please note that a co-payment will be collected at the time of your visit. Bring your insurance card and personal ID for registration purposes. Accepted forms of payment will include cash, check, and credit card.
