Emergency Medicine PRN
Horizon Health is looking for a PRN Emergency Medicine Physician to join our Emergency Department Team.
We are a 25-bed critical access hospital and group of rural health clinics, but much larger in scope and size than your typical rural organizations. We have cutting-edge technology, new offerings for the communities we serve, strong specialty support, and still have the small-town approach and values that make our organization so special.
The hospital is supported by a Primary Care Group with 20 physicians and providers and specialist support in behavioral health, women’s services, general surgery, orthopedics, pain, dermatology, podiatry, and cardiology. Additionally, we have 11 visiting specialists that see patients in the clinic each month.
The hospital has a 24/7 hospitalist service and convenient care for patients. In 2023, we completed expansion projects, including adding an outpatient dialysis center, home health services, pre-anesthesia clinic, and innovative radiology updates.
Position Details:
- Must be Emergency Medicine residency trained
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- 3 Years preferred experience in Emergency Medicine
- Customer Service oriented with team approach to care preferred
- 24-hour shifts with mid-shift APP and supportive and experienced ED team
- $240/hour as a 1099 contractor; this rate includes travel
- Hospital provides malpractice with tail, lodging, and meals while on shift. Hospital does provide lodging in between shifts.

- Athena EMR
- Our ED averages 10,000 patients a year and continues to grow
- Patient navigation, mobile integrated health program, and having our own EMS are just a few ways we ensure our patients are taken care of before and after an Emergency Department visit
